Check out the Having Issues thread. But to give you a general idea - i f you're getting that message, it's usually due to your anti-virus/firewall, or you may need to reinstall the 2010 C++ redist (after uninstalling it first), or you may need to check your router settings (sometimes a reboot of it works).
So check the thread or check the above that I've mentioned. 99% of the time not being able to view the browser list is due to anti-virus or firewall. You have to check for those hidden ones as well!
EDIT: I've also tried fully disabling windows firewall, but ofcourse the game still wouldn't work.
Which version of Windows are you running?
Are you able to play in single player on your Windows machine? So only the server browser/multiplayer components are not working.
I'm currently running my pc on Windows 10 64 bit.
I am in fact able to run singleplayer.
can you guys bring back the direct connect/LAN functionality? i rarely get a chance to hang out with some of my friends, and last night when I was trying to play this game the game kept locking up when they would do anything to load something on their screen and there was bad lag - which is all solved by allowing local connections. as i understand it you guys are using steam's networking stuff to combat piracy and force microtransactions, and i'm going to do my damnedest to contribute to an open source version of this game if you don't add that basic functionality back.
the DLC are microtrasactions and you're a foolish consumerist if you think they're not going to encroach upon that free content once the platform is big enough. Where have you been the past 12 years??? This probably goes back before I was even born.
Any further derpy responses will be ignored.
