Failed to connect to master server / Can't see and join any online games HELP
I just bought the game to play it with some friends. Now when I open the server browser, the game will give me the message: 'Can't connect to master server' and no servers will appear. When joining through steam, the game won't connect to the server. Please help.

I was trying to help you in global chat, but you left before I posted it, so here's a copy and paste of it:

Check out the Having Issues thread. But to give you a general idea - i f you're getting that message, it's usually due to your anti-virus/firewall, or you may need to reinstall the 2010 C++ redist (after uninstalling it first), or you may need to check your router settings (sometimes a reboot of it works).

So check the thread or check the above that I've mentioned. 99% of the time not being able to view the browser list is due to anti-virus or firewall. You have to check for those hidden ones as well!

thank you for the response! I've tried to reinstall the 2010 C++ redist, to no avail. But which files should be blocked from firewall? I've currently got the Tabletop Simulator.exe only blocked from firewall. I've restricted my anti-virus from doing anything to the whole map found in the steamapps/common section.

So here's a little update. I've uninstalled my antivirus to see if that's what causing the problem, but I still couldn't join any servers. I've got every file i can imagine in tabletop simulator restricted from my firewall, which are Tabletop Simulator.exe and awesomium_process.exe. The weird thing is, I am in fact able to play TTS on my macbook, but my macbook will fly to the moon if it's running for more than ten minutes. So hopefully you can help me out with this information, thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've also tried fully disabling windows firewall, but ofcourse the game still wouldn't work.

Out of curiosity, does completely disabling your firewall *temporarily* fix it? That would allow us to isolate if its a firewall issue or not.

nope, disabling firewall and anti-virus fully hasn't done anything.

And it works for your macbook. Are you using the same kind of connection for your Windows machine and your macbook - meaning are they both connecting to the internet via wifi or plugged in via ethernet cable?

Which version of Windows are you running?

Are you able to play in single player on your Windows machine? So only the server browser/multiplayer components are not working.

can you guys bring back the direct connect/LAN functionality? i rarely get a chance to hang out with some of my friends, and last night when I was trying to play this game the game kept locking up when they would do anything to load something on their screen and there was bad lag - which is all solved by allowing local connections. as i understand it you guys are using steam's networking stuff to combat piracy and force microtransactions, and i'm going to do my damnedest to contribute to an open source version of this game if you don't add that basic functionality back.

There are no microtransactions in the game. There is DLC but only the host needs it and there's a ton of non-DLC user-made games. I don't think threatening to "do your damnedest" will help your cause though.

the DLC are microtrasactions and you're a foolish consumerist if you think they're not going to encroach upon that free content once the platform is big enough. Where have you been the past 12 years??? This probably goes back before I was even born.

Any further derpy responses will be ignored.
