Tabletop Simulator is just that. A simulated sandbox for games you can play at the table. You can play pretty much anything you can think up. You can communicate to the other players through the in game text chat or use voice chat if you have it available.
Presumably, I can see my cards but no-one else can?
What I am trying to do is avoid buying a four pack only to find that it is not what I want. I regularly play bridge with three friends and we are getting withdrawal symptoms during the lockdown. Unfortunately, none of my friends are into computer games so getting a bridge session going could be a chore. However, this could be the thing that shows them how good a computer game can be. Cross fingers.
I bought the four pack. Playing card games works really well. However, Bridge is particularly good because of a Contract Bridge mod by Jay (thank you) and therefore Tabletop Simulator has proved to be the answer to our dreams.
e.g. if you can see A,K,Q,J,6 (I wish) then grabbing the Jack will pick up the four honour cards, move to one side and drop. Play the 6 and then grab the jack again to put the four cards back into the right place in dummy.
It is a little bit fiddly and took a while to master, but now we have problem free evenings where everyone knows what they are doing. For me, it feels much better than all the actual Bridge programs - the 3D real life simulation just feels perfect.
A word of advice - spend a while shuffling. If you are not careful you can get a high proportion of odd splits.
Anyway, we are happy with it.
