How do I add custom objects?
I've tried most of the stuff that makes sense, looked at some other discussions, looked at what seemed to be the official guide(the game itself directs there so it's official right?), but I still don't understand how to do it. I made some models in blender(not without help) that I want to use with my sister, exported them to obj, and I have repeatedly tried to import it using the custom model.

Please send help.

what happens if u
1. go into game.
2. objects (top bar)
3. components (new window)
4. custom
5. click the folder on Model/Mesh. (new window)
6. search for the obj file. (os window)
7. put white image to diffuse/image
8. click import.

if that works then u upload that file with modding -> upload manager
click the uploaded "object" button to get link
paste it into Model/Mesh
then it works in multiplayer

In order to give precise help, we would need to know more about what actually happens when you try to import your model. Because that gives a clue as to what is wrong.
Can you give some screenshots of what your model looks like in blender, what is its triangle count, what is the error message or what else happens when you hit import?

the error message just says "failed to import model[obj.]" followed by a little code thing, and I think I can show you how that model looks like in blender (I pretty much only did the coloring and the base that's the actual shape I just stole from thingiverse) but I have no idea how to get the triangle count. (though now that I think about, it's REALLY rounded and detailed so there's probably too many)

u should not color them in blender, u should do that after u layed out uv wrap, use image in tts, remember u could simply use white and let tint define ur object color if it was single colored.

See here on how to find triangle count in blender 2.8 and after:
https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/158862/where-do-i-find-the-polygon-and-vertices-count-for-an-object-in-blender-2-8

If you downloaded the model from Thingiverse, it might be too detailed for TTS. Though in fact I would advise against doing a UV unwrap, because that will just increase the filesize for little gain. You will be able to use a single-color without it, and for a Thingiverse model that is your best bet anyhow.

Once you find your triangle count, check if it is over 40.000. If it is, try to use a decimate modifier to get it below that. Should be possible without losing too much detail. Then try to import again.

from what i have learned, the triangle count does not always be correct, resulting sometimes needing to be much more less than 40 000.

that makes sense

my main problem with my own creations (which is why I stopped trying and took a thing from thingiverse) was that it wouldn't color how I wanted it to with all the different patterns I wanted because of the low triangle count, but I'll try to see if I can go low enough without going too low I guess.

ok I tried to do something but I'm pretty sure I have a different version of blender(probably newer I did only get it recently) because what Baryonyx reccomended doesn't work. There are less triangles than I expected, but still a whole heckin lot, and I can't find anywhere the number of them.
And the UV maps are just doing I don't even know what nothing works with those either. Like I can technically get them, but 0 way to look at them it seems.
If I don't manage to do this by december 2023 I'm giving up because I'm that dedicated I'll be working till then if it takes that long but I'm not dedicated enough that I'll still be trying into 2024.

Under overlays on the right (by viewport shaders) there is a statistic check mark after clicking that you'll have your triangle count and vertices and all that stuff showing up.
