How good does Warhammer 40K work in TTS?
I just recently started to get into 40k and have a friend who would be interested too, but does not want to invest too much money in miniatures.
The title is pretty self explanatory, I'm most interested if measuring distances or establishing line of sight works well and if there's a good way to move your models in bulks.

Thanks in advance.

Me and several of my friends play, its a pain to set up with armies that use a lot of models like Imperial Guard, but you get used to it pretty quick. Using the ruler measuring tool and applying a 1 inch square grid on the map works perfectly for distances. As for moving models in bulk..if there is a simple easy way to do it with no problems I have yet to find it. But it's not an unreasonably difficult task. Usually we just move the one model, then mass drag-move the rest of the unit and place them within cohesion.

It's not going to be perfect, you'll have to give a little ground in terms of exact specifics of the rules to really enjoy the experience (such as measuring vehicle weapon range from the hull, since you can't rotate the turrets on the models in TTS) But as long as you are just trying to have fun, it's a grand old time.

Thanks, that sounds pretty doable.

Well people just need to adapt to the medium. Therefore there are shortcut ways to move things around, like using one figure to represent a larger portion or unit in the army over trying to drag every single one.

For moving units, we on X-wing have a scrippted auto-mated movement. Could look into that for Warhammer (but of course need to find someone to do the scripting) just trying to help out ><
