WW1 tabletop wargaming?
Morning everyone, as the title says (as best as i could describe it) im looking for some ww1 themed wargaming, not in the way of a boardgame but something similar to 40k (as in models of infantry and tanks)

Does something like that even exist that could be ported onto tabletop sim?

I don't think any game exists of such a thing that could be ported, but then again I question the fun of such a game.
You have severals rows of trenches staring at each other, and you keep throwing for hits all the time from which about 1 of 10 actually hits something. And when you throw for artillery, also 1 of 10 actually does anything else than just blow another crater in the landscape.
At least that's how I imagine it.

First Google result. Many more below it. WW1 war and board gaming is a thing, for sure.

Crossfire, although thats WW2.

Not many WW1 board games on TTS.

If you mean Crosshairs, that is WWI aerial combat (not WWII)

So far not much in terms of microarmor or 6mm and 10mm figures.

Definitely Crossfire, have not seen a TTS version of it though. (I have dabbled in creating one myself, but run out of steam midway). It's WWII though.

Ahhh - most US board gamers (of a certain age) would think of the much more popular kids game "Crossfire", which shot marbles rom a spring loaded gun across a wooden play field :) I see it's also the name of a war game from 1996.

sorry to be late to the discussion. i'm about 1/2 way through porting "landships" to TTS. i've done the maps and the tables, but kinda stumbled at the figures. topdowns, cardboard tokens and chits get lost on the large (predominantly muddy brown) maps. :( i have 200+ obj files for all of the vehicles necessary, but lack the time to port and UV map them.

anyway, i just thought i would chip in and say that WW1 gaming can be about so much more than just "two lines of trenches" and artillery bombardments. two scenarios from landships spring to mind.... "rescuing downed fliers" and "broken down tank crews". i know it's never going to be as popular as WW2 with gamers, but it can still be 'fun' (as much fun as a meatgrinder can be). i had family there. and even on such an abstracted level, it's good to appreciate some of the things they went through.

I just got done porting "Trenches of Valor", which is a tactical level wargame. It's hex-and-chit though, not sure if you're really interested, but it's a rather easy introductory-level one so it shouldn't be too intimidating.
