How can I measure distances?
I am new to this game and want to know how I can measure distances for Wh 40k.

there was a tool for that. Think the hotkey was tab.

If you hold Tab and move your mouse, you'll get a line from where you started holding Tab to where your mouse is. Above the line is a number that tells the distance from the start to the end of the line. I've never played any kind of wargame with TTS, but I believe this is what you want.

Thank you.

Line tool is as close as they get. You still cannot set the measurement unit size, you are stuck with what they give you. So no scaling the table size to match your models for instance. Nor can the other players see your measurement distance. Nor is the line persistant. When you let go, to say... move a piece, the line disappears. Improvements have been asked for from those of us who would like to use TTS for miniatures but haven't seen any changes so far.

as far as im aware the lines measures in centimeters
as in i ported a model over that i had made 9cm long in blender, the model was consistently 9 'units' long
it even seems to scale the distance to your perspective, which is pretty cool

so i would assume you can just scale everything down ~2.5x to get it to measure in inches relative.
at least i hope that would work, otherwise it would be a pain for the game im making

All measurements in TTS (line tool and grid size) are actually in inches. I'm not sure how you made something 9 cm long in Blender and it is consistently 9 inches long in TTS.

Scale up, I think you meant ... it's 2.54 centimeters in an inch. Not really an issue but just something to keep in mind.

A lot of the WH mods on the Workshop also include pre-made models for line tools that can be used as rulers for standard distances.

You can however pick up a model, then hold tab and move it and you will get the distance that you move the piece.

Looks like if you hold shift while moving the mouse, it will constrain the movement so you can measure horizontally and/or vertically.
