Question about object height

I searched for this in the forum and did not find the answer. If there is a thread where this is discussed please fell free to send me the link and close this post.

Is there a way to adjust the height of an object once picked up. It seems to go up a set amount of distance and then drop. The object usually drops fine but sometimes if you are trying to show someone the piece (a'la Stratego) it can be cumbersome.

If you can't is this feature planned for a future update?

You can raise an object/item higher by pressing the R key while holding up said object. It goes up a smidge higher.

I have found you can "gently" place down an objects picked up by clicking the right mouse button while holding said object. This is very handy when you want to pick up something like a die and not have it reroll....though it does "slip" at times.
