Blank Cards / Cards not loading fix
I had an issue with specific cards not loading, only the backs. The front of the cards would show up completely black. The common response was either something to do with your firewall, memory and so forth. However, it still didn't work - how frustrating!

So the potential fix that worked for me:

I had placed my game settings on 'Very Low' but after a comment to someone "lower your memory settings" due to someone crashing I decided to bump them back up to 'Very High'. Now the cards work! I'm really not sure why this is the case, but I hope this can help someone who is in the same spot as I was.

I have used TTS. a on a couple of different computers...Nvidia grafx cards do a good job at all resolutions both on win and linux. Intergraph lower end grafx setups do not fair so well on the low settings on Win but do just fine under linux.
I think the bottom line has a lot to do with your grafx setup and the drivers your os uses with them.
Since TTS is built with Unity I bet any of these types of issues will crop up with other Unity based programs.

Just a thought.

When I play with friends, if we place settings on "very low" cards will show black. So we allways play in "medium"...

Upping quality didn't work for the member of my game that was having this issue, so I figured I'd post the solution that did work here too:

Loading the images needed directly into the images folder. So users/yourname/documents/mygames/tabletopsimulator/mods/images. What I did, as host, was just zip my images folder and send it to the player who was getting blank cards, and had them put the contents into their images folder. That fixed the problem.
