also where has creativity gone from gamers?
This is a tabletop simulator (not a boardgame simulator) in the literal sense - it simulates the top of a table (and somethings some things surrounding that) on which you and your friends can play board games of all kinds.
Scripted mods have varying degrees of automation on them, but there are no games with a functional, reliable AI. There are a few mods out there that have an AI, such as UNO, but it is more of a proof of concept and can break often.
Just like in reality, the thing to do against that is to not play with people who do that.
For real though, many popular games (Tabletop Wargames, DnD, MtG, etc.) and game genres (e.g. euro games) have their dedicated communities to them where you can find people to play with who take their playing (somewhat) seriously.
it is not a lack of creativity when you want to play a boardgame and have to count your points yourself.
e.g. i bought the game because we did not find a website or something else to play el grande i good quality.
every third round you get plenty of points and a tabletop-simulator should at least be able to count that points automatically. ..... otherwise it's a senseless tool.
It's exactly the same as playing a tabletop game. It simulates the tabletop experience. If, in that game, you count your points yourself (I don't know the game you're talking about, but monopoly money could be a good example), you will have to keep track of those points yourself just like the table top version, unless you can script what you want.
If you wanted a simulator that has pre-built in rules, then you're asking for additional work being done to program in rules.
TTS is a sandbox, you trade automatization for flexibility. You buy TTS and you can play any number of games, even create your own, because there are no set rules.
if you have cards and want to give each player five of them you have to take every card with the mousecurser and put it on the place before the player...it takes 20 times as much it would be in real life to give each player five cards. (and that's only one example)
