How to get started for dnd?

This seems like it would be perfect for an easy to use platform for dnd.
what should I download to support that?

Depends a lot on what kind of a campaign you want to run. Put "DnD" or "RPG" in the workshop search bar and browse away.

Howdy. I do not have a specific recommendation for the workshop/tts, but I expect someone has made something and you can use the search tool to find it. I just wanted to mention, on the off chance you didn't know, that there are already dedicated tools for playing TRPGs such as dnd, online. Two examples: Roll20, Fantasy Grounds. I personally prefer playing "Theatre of the Mind" on voice with friends, with roll20 as just a dice roller or flavour/battle map thing. I hope that helps a little! Best of luck, friend.

If you do any roleplaying on TTS I highly recommend getting this mod. I use it for all my games.

I would also recommend TTS over Roll20. Their company has made decisions and statements that I don't really agree with plus once my players started playing in 3D we couldn't go back. I can'y speak for Fantasy Grounds.

I would like to find a group that plays ADnD or perhaps "Basic Fantasy" Rules
