www model error: cannot connect to destination host
Hey friends.

I been having an issue that came up from nowhere. I been playing for a couple of years without any issues , and a couple of weeks i go keep getting the error , www image error cannot connect to destination host error, Not in all boardgames but in most.

Now i read through the pinned thread ''havin issues'' and i've tried them all that had with the error issues to do. But nothing has worked. Ive tried reinstall both steam and the game, verified game files as well. Reinstall c++ . i tried a bunch but can't get it to work. So im getting kinda desperat.

When googlin it i can't find someone asking for help for the same issue as me, atleast not the same issue in the way that they tried all the fixes and etc but still hasnt work.

Anyway thanks for your time guys, and hope you have some info to help me out with this.

The mods you are using have broken links, or your firewall/AV is blocking access to certain domains where some assets are being hosted.
The latter can happen after a Windows or Antivirus update, when permissions might be reset.

No broken links since it works for other people , who have never played the boardgames before. So it's first time for them aswell loading in the images.

the first thing i did was making sure the firwall/av wasnt blocking access. Thanks for response though!

It may work for other people because they have the assets cached, but since they too have never loaded the mod, then it's probably the latter explanation. did you try with Defender/AV and firewall actually turned OFF just to test?
That you reinstalled steam and it's still happening also makes me think something is blocking the connections to certain non-steam-related IPs. Of course, Windows sometimes doesn't really do clean uninstalls, and Steam can be tricky... Try turning off mod threading and caching and reloading the mod just to see if that does anything.

Had the same issue for the longest time ever. Altering my 'hosts' file fixed everything for me.

1) click Start > Run

2) type in "notepad %windir%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" and press ENTER

3) look for the problem site's domain name ('pastebin.com' for Tabletop Simulator mods)

4) If you find it, insert a pound sign (#) at the beginning of the line that contains it.
Or just delete the line completely (this is what I did).

5) Save the file.
If it doesn't let you save it due to admin issues, try following this https://www.groovypost.com/howto/edit-hosts-file-windows-10/

I'd like to chime in and answer with potentially the correct solution for all these problems.

Your ISP is basically not properly resolving Pastebin, Imgur and whatever name it's receiving, so just go to your Networks Settings, change your default DNS address to Google or Cloudflare, instead of picking ISP DNS address automatically.

That solved all my bugs over here.

just bringing this issue up again, cause on Win11 only using Cloudflare DNS was no longer finxing it.

So beyond using Cloudflare DNS, I also disabled IPv6. Now working again.

it's me again.

above solution also stops working.

just set your IPv4 and IPv6 to Cloudflare DNS or alike and issue will be fixed.
