Multiplayer with One Copy
If I purchase the base game would I then be able to host/invite other people who do not have a copy of the game (ie, I host a poker game)? Is there a limit on the number of players playing off one base game? I'm looking for options for my group to do things virtually with COVID hampering events. Each player needing a copy of the base game would be a steep hurdle though. I just don't want to buy the game then find out it doesn't meet my needs. Thanks!

No. You can play an open/co-op game with one copy using steam Remote Play, but not a game requiring hidden information, like poker. There's a lot of poker/blackjack type stuff people play on here, you could join a few games just to see how some tables are run, then buy a 4-pack if you like it. It's the best thing on steam, imo.

I'd really like to know what game does what you describe. Sounds quite strange to me, even though this kind of thing gets asked here fairly often.

That being said, you can play almost any board or card game there is with TTS, and be as fancy or simple with it as you like. You can have a simple table with just the cards or load up an entire room with decorations to play in. Have a look through the workshop to find out what there is. The four-pack is definitely a great deal, and when the game is on sale (which happens quite often) it is almost a robbery considering all the content you get for free on the workshop.

More at OP, but I'd like to know titles, if you know any.

Any cooperative games: Robinson Crusoe, Mageknight (co-op mode), Forbidden Isle/Desert, Pathfinder ACG, any of Fantasy Flight's living card games, Captain is Dead!, and so on... I imagine there are some party games that don't require hidden info or at least aren't complex enough that people couldn't figure out a way to make it work-- "just leave the room so Jenny can look at her card!" or whatever... Not really my wheelhouse. :P

Okay, thanks for the help. Just knowing my audience, the upfront cost for the base simulator would be a non-starter unless they could try it. That's not aimed at the developers, that's just the group I'd be playing with.
