TTS newbie - Subscribed to 3 Workshop games, can't find "Play" button anywhere
Using Steam app newly installed yesterday on Mac OS Mojave. Purchased TTS, and TTS shows up as my one and only game in the Steam library. I went into Workshop and subscribed to 3 games. None of them show up in the Steam library, but when I click into the Workshop and go to Workshop items, all three appear, and with a status of Subscribed.

Problem is I see nothing on screen that launches the game itself. Clicking on the subscribed game just shows me the workshop description of the game, no Play option or anything. How can I play a subscribed game? I feel like I am either missing something, or maybe my environment is not set up right. Thanks in advance and sorry for the newbie question - I've googled and searched but havent seen any others with this particular problem.

I'm not quite sure, since I've only bought the game recently too, but my impression is that you have to subscribe to workshop items *in-game* for some reason in order for them to register. Try accessing the workshop in-game, unsubscribe from the three items and then subscribe to them in-game and see whether that changes anything.

Figured it out! Once you've subscribed to something, go to the Main Menu where you see the "Join" and "Create" buttons. Click "Create", go through the 3-question process of starting a server... and then, once you have the server, it will bring up a menu of your various game options, including your workshop subscriptions!

Oh, okay, seems like I misunderstood the question. Yeah, you need to start Tabletop Simulator via Steam and then load the games from there, as explained by latingreekhon. You can't start subscribed games directly, they are just mods to load into TTS.

latinandgreekhon - I am searching everywhere for the "Join" and "create" buttons. I am in the Steam mac app, and from the top menu (Store Library Community Glenn), I go to Library -> Home, then click TableTop Simulator. From that top menu, I click Workshop which shows me the whole Workshop "Store". From there I click Browse -> My Subscriptions, and I see the titles I have subscribed to. I don't see Create or Join here, nor do I see create or join if I click into any of my subscribed games.

Where should I go to see these buttons? I wish we could paste screenshots here to help find.

I also tried launching / playing TTS, which seems to by default load a card game. Inside of TSS I pressed Shift Tab to get to the TTS main window, and go to Workshop, etc etc, still no evidence of a Create/Join option.

Your second try was the right approach. Don't go to Workshop in the client, launch TTS instead.

(I'm on PC not Mac, but I assume there won't be much differences in how Steam works between those two, please cut me some slack if there are.)

In every game run with Steam you make screenshots by pressing F12, and you can share the screenshots, if you upload them to the cloud, but I'll skip explaining how to, so as to not make this anymore confusing.

Anyway, here's a screenshot of how the main menu should look, after launching TTS.

I don't know what I did, but all of a sudden, Join and Create now appear when I launch TTS. I can say for sure that for the past couple of days, join and create buttons did not appear, TTS just showed me some card game that I could not get out of. There must be some initial state, perhaps when TTS first gets purchased, or when games first get subscribed, where the buttons do not appear. I think I am good now, but it was a couple of days of confusion for sure.

The only thing I can remember that was different when I first started the game was a popup asking me whether I would like to play the tutorial, IIRC. Maybe you accidentally confirmed that without noticing? That's all I can think of in order to explain it, other than a glitch on your end.
