Port forwarding
Would someone be willing to discord with me and teach me how to port forward.
I can't seem to get it to work.

Every router software is different, and you might find here someone who has the exact same router like yours but I would recommend to find your router on https://portforward.com/router.htm which will give you a manual to how to set up your specific router.

P.S.: The port to forward for TTS is 11155 TCP and UDP.

Also note that if you have more than one router (and your ISP modem may count) then you need to port forward all of them until it reaches your machine.

Port fowarding shouldn`t be needed honestly. The thing is that if in 2017 you are still getting dns or nat type issues or something similar then you need to buy a new router, not even a gaming one. If you have this issue more than you would like then probably this would be one of your best investments in 2017 and it is not even that expensive.

6 years ago I was having some networks issues with only a couple of games, for tired, bought just a decent router and a lot of problems are gonne since then, no more packet loss, no more nat type issues, dns, etc etc etc...

It is not needed, but it is better to port forward because the proxy servers of TTS do introduce additional latency which is never good and you better ensure to avoid it if you can.

NAT punchthrough is a software solution, it has nothing to do with your router :steamfacepalm:

I like how you clearly never managed to figure the root cause of the problem and went with the nuclear option instead, and here you come all tall and mighty showing how you saved the world and if nobody saves the world it's because they are just bad at fixing stuff.

Well I changed it and never again had nat type issues or anything related. You have no idea what kind of router I had, it was one very old which you could not even do port forwarding or the most simler stuff.

Probably it was solved by magic then, just a coincidence that I bought a new router and stopped having those issues.
