Failed to load model (obj)
I'm trying to do some photogrammetry on my real-life miniatures to put them into TTS, so I can play with my real armies, and add to the pool of models on the workshop. However, after successfully recreating the models in question in Agisoft, for some reason TTS won't accept them. I have tried decreasing poly count and model size. I've tried importing it as a RAW from PasteBin. I've tried importing them directly by uploading models to the Cloud or by using local directories. Nothing worked. The models can be opened by any 3d viewing software I have tried, including the built-in Windows 10 3d model viewer, and no errors pop up. But, whenever I import them to TTS, even after remaking them completely, it won't load them in, and doesn't give any explanation as to why. Any ideas?

20k tris limit with the in game obj importer. Your other tools are 3D modelling/processing tools so they don't care about this, but videogames do. You can circumvent this by building an assetbundle using the Unity modding project, if you want it to be over 20k tris.

Thank you for the quick response! It’s not over 20k. In my experimentation I made a model with only 6000 and it still didn’t work.

Is there any chance you are willing to pm the file to better help you solve the issue? It might make it easier to identify the issue preventing it from loading.

Of course, I will add you

Big thanks to Psyrek for helping me out!

Hate to be the guy that just tosses in a "This is happening to me, too!" with no real help, but this is happening to me, too. It has nothing to do with size of model as I've tried with a simple cube. Tried creating the obj files from different programs, including Blender. Images work for game boards and tokens, PDFs work. But obj files don't. Tried cloud and local. Nothing but the same generic, unhelpful "failed to load" message.

Send me a link to one of your object files that is failing to load and I'll check it out.

Same here too. Tried to load a model gave me the failed message. Can I send you the obj. file too?

This problem also prevents the vast majority of D&D modules from running from the workshop. Just some of the models give the same error. I'm starting to suspect that the problem is in the game itself (in some of the updates) and the developers are not in a hurry to fix it. Can anyone advise a solution or a working module for the game? (I'm a newbie, but really want to get started and figure it out)

@Obligated Cross
You can send me the obj if you want. I can take a look.

This is the best that I can do. I used one of the Spartan files here [Spartan II Mk IV V 1.3] I used the Spartan Assault Rifle file. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ehitQbW5DdikVR48spJ4A2OmCmf_AHDT?fbclid=IwAR3RstryhFamI8CEFs6MrckH0prtJtoeumbbEhlMNMUZoacOoFI5TukP7xk

that file is huge, so i'm guessing it goes strait to pile of too much triangles.

Any way to circumvent this?
