Masking Walls for Fog of War on 2D Map
I'm using 2D maps for an RPG, but I'd like to mark off walls as blocking line of sight. There's no baked-in option to hand-define "walls" in this case, but I'd planned to kludge it by putting up a few invisible walls to prevent players' vision radii from revealing the other side of doorways, corners, etc.

Problem is, these walls have collision- and if I replace their colliders with a really friggin' small one, then they no longer block vision, as the collider is what determines whether something blocks a player's line vision.

There doesn't seem to be a way to block vision without also blocking physical objects, and this is fine—and actually very intuitive—if you're dealing with a nice 3D map; however, it's a pain to deal with if you build your maps in a 2D program, like Dungeonographer or Dundjinni, and want yo prevent your players from seeing over walls.

I'd love something like this. I use 2D maps exclusively, and it would be breat to have a tool that lets you delineate areas that block LOS.

I can understand you problem, but in the end, TTS is a 3D program tailored for threedimensional environments. If you decide to not use 3D, then maybe TTS is not the program for you. Roll20 is tailored to 2D environments and supports such things.

That being said, what prevents you from just taking the basic block (from the toy blocks section), color tinting it black or grey and using gizmo to pull it into the shape you need? Using a tool like you speak of would probably take just as much time to set up walls with.

Different people use TTS in different ways. Others use 2D battle maps, too. Also, many card and board games played on TTS don't use 3D elements, so I'd say your assessment is a bit off.
