Is there a 'best' way to hide the map for step by step reveal?

I know about the fog of war.. and having an object set to reveal it.. works ok without scenery or tokens... but to set it high enough to hide the 'mobs', you can see under it at an angle.. so not the greatest solution...

I know about skybox.. but doesnt work with my table for some reason.. i have the 5 player dnd table from workshop...

Any other 'best' solutions?

if your players are tilting the camera to see under it, get new players.

Otherwise, make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of hidden zone areas, where only the GM can see until you delete them.

Wish we could set a token to remove hidden zone around where token is.

I don't think this was necessaily the OP's problem. Camera control is needed for reasons other than controlling cheaters. People often want to create perspective and game interface designs for all kinds of reasons, such as mood or just making sure people see things right. A disadvantage of infinite perspective is that everyone is looking at something in a different way.

For the purposes of narrating a story (as a DM does), this can be annoying.

The short answer to this is that you can do this stuff with scripting. I'm sure it's already been done, try asking in the custom content channel on the TTS discord. See here for some stuff you can do with camera locks and object/player controls:

another way to do it if you have the knowledge or time is scriptiing your particular dungeon so that when they enter a door it sets the next room up.
