failed to load images
i just bought this game to play secret hitler, uno, monopoly etc. i downloaded the mods. secret hitler worket perfectly. one uno mod failed to load the images for some reason and monopoly won't even load one image. i keep getting failed to load images error and it is annoying. is there a fix? i did delete x86 and reinstall and verified the game on steam.

If you're able to load the images in the browser, you'll want to look into your antivirus for why things aren't loading in game (I believe). In the meantime, you can use the TTS Mod Backup Tool[www.berserk-games.com] to download the images, etc, prior to playing any specific mod. It's a great piece of software for all sorts of reasons, and it's easy to use in cases like yours as well. It will download the files, and put them in the right spots, and tell you if any files aren't in their locations anymore.

The items downloading from pastebin are files needed for custom models. With a custom model you need the texture, which is an image file, but you also need to tell TTS how to display the texture. It's like printing out a piece of paper that's been colored for papercrafting, you also need the directions so you know where to cut and where to fold to make the papercraft item. TTS uses text files known as obj files (I think) for this. Those text files tell TTS where to fold the flat image, and where to remove parts of the flat image, so that the custom 3D model is displayed properly.

The fix is to ask the mod creator to reupload the images, or see if anyone else has the image files for that mod saved on their computer and is willing to send them to you.

More than likely the problem iisn't with the game. The problem is that the person who made the mod did not use Steam Cloud and their image host either stopped allowing the images to be hosted that way (*ahem, Photobucket*) or the image is no longer hosted at the URL.

It is possible that you have a VPN or something that is screwing up your access to the images, or the country that you're in is denying access to certain image hosting sites, or your antivirus software is being weird about it, but 99 times out of 100 it's just that the image isn't there anymore. To check though, you can copy the URL for one of the images (I forget if you can get it in game or not, but you definitely can through the json file) and go to it in your web browser, and see what happens. If it loads in your browser but not the game it is a different issue. If it doesn't load in your browser (and the site isn't blocked) it's just the image is no longer there.

So how can I get the games to work? Only asking authors to re-upload the images? If I join a game from someone else that has all the images, will that populate mine as well?|

I am extremely unhappy with Tabeltop Simulator. Bought it 30 minutes ago and EVERY game tried does not load a single image. This is useless.
I am down 7 games now and tried various mods for each game. Nothing has the needed images or files working. What is this huge fail rate?

Can I get a refund for this app? I just feel I wasted my money.
Can't believe how many mods can't provide their own required files.

I'm having this problem with mods that used to work fine

For both Terraforming Mars and Great Western Trail, the main board image appears briefly during loading then goes blank with some error about google drive files not being the right format also showing up.

I agree. Nothing but problems and can't load models. Wasted hours trying suggested fixes. If you have to be developer to get this software to work it is a complete waste of money.
