Problem with Downloaded workshop items only saying BROKEN.
Main problem is that when I click on the workshop button it shows the first 5 or so things I have downloaded but they all say BROKEN and are locked and cant click on them, opening the workshop tab in game just gives me a white empty box as if I never downloaded anything.

I have tried:

-Verifying game files
-Restarting game
-Reinstalling game
-Visited the official forum and a page with solved issues which didn't help me.

It has all worked flawlessly before and I had a few pages of Workshop items downloaded.
This is quite the issue since I am usually the designated host for the people I play with and if I cant access my workshop items that's quite the issue.

Errors:

Error loading Workshop games: Value cannot be null.
&
Error loading Workshop games: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I will not have access to my computer until the 23rd of June, but please do keep posting helpful comments.
I will try to read the thread however.

I had this problem recently. The resolution was as follows:

1) Launch TTS
2) Navigate to your mods folder (documents/my games/tts/mods) and delete SaveFileInfos.json
3) Exit TTS (through pressing quit, never alt+f4
4) Re-start TTS

This does two things - deleting the source of the problem (SaveFileInfos.json) while TTS is running, and then closing TTS properly, convinces the Steam Cloud that deleting it is what you want to do (it won't go and re-sync your bad version.

It then makes TTS re-build the SaveFileInfos.json to preven the errors you're getting.

Good luck!

-- humor edit, how on earth do i make good workshop mods if i can't close simple () pairs -.-

Thank you so much! This fixed it for me!

Hmm some sort of desynching from the cloud? Have you tried alt-clicking TTS in library, going to options and verifying file integrity? Do this (again), relaunch steam and reload TTS.

If not working stillk, go to your TTS launch options, add -log to them, if you can capture some aspect of what is causing this in log, please share.

Make absolutely sure you are running newest versions of steam and TTS too, there have been many updates lately for both.

Hey, Thanks this was very helpful tho it still didn't work. It still says BROKEN and I followed your steps exactly and even did it twice. Any other steps I could try?

I even tried doing this with the steam cloud completely disabeled wich didnt help either.

I didn't really know what exactly I was looking for but this might help?
And Yes I have verified my files, that's the first thing I did.

You _could_ delete your entire mods folder with the same method, or after you turn off the steam cloud / go into offline mode.

Then when you go back online, it _should_ re download the mods you've subscribed to and fix _any_ issues you might have.

Just make sure when you launch TTS the second time that the SaveFileInfos.json is not there, so it generates a new one.

I will try this when I get back.

I have seen this before in my game too, however it happens rarely and restarting the game fixes it.

Apart from what has been suggested already, it might be useful to produce logs to see if a problem will be documented there. See the "Having issues?" sticky to find out how to enable logging and where to find the logs.

Hey I just wanted to say, I had the same problem and this worked for me. Thanks for the advice!

At least it worked for someone

Doesn't work for me... and I've tried deleting it, replacing it, changing the contents of the file all while inside TTS. Ive tried inside the menu only, and while inside the game. Im pretty sure with all the combinations ive done, ONE of them would have worked. No it didn't, so... any other solutions that doesnt require a mass wipe of workshop content? lol

Unfortunately what I had to do is go to my workshop and click the unsubscribe from all and then delete all the game folders, uninstall the game and wipe cloud data. So to answer your question, no you do have to wipe it all sadly. At least I had to.
