Tilt Five Augmented Reality

The Tilt Five augmented reality tabletop system just went up on Kickstarter and it looks pretty awesome. Does anyone know if it would be possible to play Tabletop Simulator games using such a system?

Getting TTS support on Tilt Five would be so awesome. It's not common that you have a killer app that goes both ways but with this, the benefits for tilt five owners would be just as great as for TTS owners.

I backed Tilt Five and am really excited about it. Having T5 support would be awesome!

This needs Tabletop Simulator support. TTS is already a supported platform. The struggle with all digital board games is the interface. Board games are meant to be displayed on a table in front of you not on a vertical display. Unfortunately, I thought VR would work well as a good interface but it is too cumbersome!

Given TTS is built using Unity as far as I can tell, and Tilt Five is going to ship with a Unity plugin, it seems like using TTS to at least view the board (without implementing 6 DoF input etc) should be fairly straight forward. Their VR implementation would aid in supporting the Tilt Five wand as well, as I'd be surprised if support for this isn't implemented. Of course, software is never straight forward, and they may be busy doing other things. It does seem like a good match though and I'm definitely interested.

Well, they've announced Tabletopia is getting Tilt Five support, so maybe that will improve the odds of TTS supporting it? I certainly hope so.

Maybe you should ask Gabe then if you think that his shoutout is somehow relevant to this discussion.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like support too, but added support means added development costs. Are you prepared to pay for a Tilt 5 DLC to support that development? That seems much more relevant than a shoutout by someone not involved in the process at all.

I first heard of TTS during their kickstarter because they offered castAR tabletop AR support as a stretch goal, TTS a great concept for a virtual boardgame platform and am pleased it's become the success that it is, that it's gained traction and a community of creators. I'd like to see TTS support for Tilt5 for no other reason that it's be awesome realization of the potential for both projects.

TTS on Tile Five would be amazing. So so amazing, but of course would involve porting away from all the built in Steam features in TTS. It'd be worth it though.

It's close to mass production (some people already recieved beta kits). Hope support will be added. It would be so amazing
