Opinion: Let us disable card rotation in hand
There used to be a time when you could draw cards and they'd always come in oriented the same way. Now, if one isn't careful, you can end up with sideways cards, diagonal cards, or cards just skewed in all sorts of ways.

I have never found a situation where this is useful, and would prefer the ability to disable it.

Huh, I've never drawn cards that were skewed or disoriented. I don't use the new hand overlay, disabled with the H key, so maybe I'm missing this glitch.

what if your cards are veiwed long side up? i can think of lots of games with 90 degree orientated cards?

"Tapping" or "Tasking" card games might object to elimination of rotation in hand.

I'm pretty sure when you create a custom deck, you're given the option for whether the deck is landscape or portrait - this dictates how you draw them?

I find it hard to replicate, myself, but several times I have seen friends draw hands that end up like this: https://puu.sh/yUXpn/a10a904548.png

I do not know exactly why it happens, only that sometimes it does (even to me); perhaps latency is the issue.

As you can see, this would be very annoying to deal with, especially if it's consistent.

To the others: I am not asking for its removal; I am asking for an option to disable it, as this is not how cards used to behave.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm currently overseeing a mod that has decks with some cards in portrait and some in landscape, and it's really inconvenient that your opponents know you have a landscape card in hand when you draw them.

Ideally I'd like to keep the ALT preview correctly oriented, but it's pretty bad that they're held uniquely in hand.

@Ghuul Cards will end up wonkly like that if you pull them in manually and too quickly. By giving the card half a second or so to orient itself or alternatively drawing with the number keys you won't have this issue.

The trigger for rotating cards to the hand zone orientation is holding the card within the hand zone, where as if you throw them in without triggering this they will retain their rotation.

As maldiction said - we need a way to have the alt preview in landscape modde without the card orientation in hand being sideways. There are MANY card and deckbuilding games with sideways cards which have specific purposes. If your enemies know that you have such a card in your hand they can play around it. Has anyone found a fix or is there anything like that planned?

@Earthplayer, just put the user's hand in a larger, hidden area.

use the gizmo tool to set the Alt view rotation for the cards but you will need to do it for all cards even the normal portrait ones so you don't telegraph which of your cards are actually viewed side on.

loco's solution is the only one I can think of but I am humbled by the expertise of the modders posting here hehe. Gizmo > Rotation Value alters default rotation stuff.

This solution is not bad, but again, if you look at the card with the Alt key while it is in another player's hand zone you will see that the card is sideways. Also if the card lies upside-down on the table you will see that it is a sideways card by looking at it with the Alt key.
