How do I make A spinner stay put while spinning?
I'm just editing a board that has a spinner but the spinner spawns in the board, in the wrong location and cannot spin. How do I make it spin without it going all over the place? I do know that you need to use the joint tool. The Spinner is the game of life spinner. I'm editing/fixing this one. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=865658405&searchtext=Game+of+life

There is a rotate axis tool in Gizmo tool options. So, making spinners would involve taking Piece 1: The spinner board. Place a point on the board where the piece is to spin. Snap the spinning object to the point. This should make it so that when you use Q and E to rotate the spinning piece it rotates around that axis, you can set the resistance and physics so that it keeps "spinning" when it is put in motion. It's kind of hard to explain -- there's a spinner in Scythe DLC which does it this way, I can't think of other objects to copy from the Workshop that have spinners at the moment but I'll get back to you if I do. The best way to learn this stuff is by copying working examples from other mods.

I'm still lost. This is what happens when I put the Snap Point where the spinner is. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1246642990

From what I know, it should work like this:
Place the object that is supposed to spin on the location that you want it to spin on. Use the joint tool to join the spinner to the board. Right click the spinner to access the joint options. In there, change it to "Hinge" and enter a value on the axis that you want the spinner to rotate in (I think you need the middle one, Y I think. And it doesn't seem to matter what number you put in there).
Finally, right click and play with the physics values of the spinner to make it stop faster or take longer to stop.

Ok I'll try and see to see if it works and I'll let you know.

Well now the Spinner is spawning flying all over the place or is spawning inside the board like it did before. What do I do to fix this?

Reloading the table does not fix it?

No

Then the only other solution I can think of is to put a flat thing below the spinner, then join it to the board and remove the flat object from underneath so that there is a small space between spinner and board. If that does not help, I guess you'll have to set the spinner up freshly every time you load the board. :S
