Joke's on you. Unless you own a premium gyazoo account, your screenshot will be deleted within 3 months. Better read up on those gyazo terms & conditions.

Except no they wont.
I have images dating back 5 years.

Also the point of the thread still stands, half of the content is ruined by photobucket hosting.

What happened with photobucket? I see those on many websites.

Photobucket is trash, imgur used to be good, but I heard they have gone downhill too.

I mean, did their servers crash or something? I see those things everywhere.

no they just turned free hosting into a joke, they delete the free images in a heartbeat to try and persuade people to upgrade to a full paid account to protect their image hosting.
all image hosting sites seem to go the same route, I remember when imageshack used to be reliable too.

Why are you not just using the Steam Cloud rather than these external hosting sites ?
imp Jul 22, 2017 @ 9:48am
I'm not the author of the workshop content, this was for others to take note that using photobucket may be a waste of time for the person downloading their work but its a bigger waste of time for those that put trust in photobucket to host their textures.
If you mean for my screenshot, I don't know how to attach a screenshot directly and usually delete my screenshot folders so wasn't sure if it would just delete it from the post.

Yes, steam cloud is really great (and I think the best choice). Imgur is good but compress files. I prefer cubeupload.

Give these a try:

https://postimage.io/ (Unlimited Bandwidth, Free to use but compresses image)

https://imgpile.com (Unlimited Bandwidth, Raw Uncompressed Image, Keeps Exif Data, More features for registered users and Free to use, 100MB max image file size)

http://cubeupload.com/ (Amazing and simple interface, Unlimited Bandwidth, Raw Uncompressed images, Free to use, 5MB max image file size)

https://flickr.com (This one is not for everyone, it is basically a service to showcase your artistic work but works as image host as well, owned by Yahoo!)

Don't use the these image hosts; Get miles away from them. :

https://tinypic.com (Old Outdated interface, No multi image upload support, Compresses image, No hotlinking)

https://imgur.com (Compresses images, biased and deletes images based on their own opinion)

https://photobucket.com (Old, Can't upload images as guest, Parent company of Tinypic, so even worse than tinypic)

https://imageshack.us (Only paid accounts have unlimited bandwidth)

thanks for the detailed suggestions N3urospeed, anything that fixes the workshop content is needed, I have tested a lot of content and had to delete the majority of it because of the photobucket problem.
I just hope its easy for the authors to change their image url's to fix them.

Hosting images costs websites money.

When people abuse these free host sites, those sites have to take measures to stay in business. The sites get blamed for people ruining them for everyone else.
imp Jul 22, 2017 @ 11:31am
I understand that part but in that case using these sites are a waste of time, what about using something like googledrive an account allows up to 50gb permanent space and you just pay for more space or delete older things.
However I am unaware if google drive allows it for images, not sure, but maybe there are sites like that which are for images and allow a certain limit which you control.
It seems so many people rely on photobucket and this is the point of this thread, to suggest not using it and for others to suggest alternatives.

Thanks for the links.

I don't use Steam for hosting each time I want my personnal work to be featured because of clause 6B that makes our original work theirs! (If it doesn't matter or just is for sharing with everyone screenshots or things we don't care about ownership for future development.)

Yeah... Sadly, even knowing the links for some of my Photobucket images, I cannot see them not logged on and not sure they are still hosted but before that fluster of clock they sent in my mail about 3 times a day spam for products and since I decided to not receive them anymore (alsoI guess it was about everyone getting tired of it) then they did THAT! I was already growled when folks sent me picture links with malicious adds on them. So true. Photobucket was once a very great and good service, now I dunno what came trough them. :S

Just use Imgur.. Free hosting, no image size / bandwidth limit.. they're (IMHO) the best.

Imgur has a limit of 20 mb per picture, my friends and i are frequently creating yugioh decks of 40 cards in good quality, this often results in pictures surpassing the 20mb limit.

If you try to upload a picture that is bigger, it will just fail and retry, then fail again.
