Massive Amounts of Thumbnails Downloading
Is there anyway I can pause thumbnails downloading when I'm trying to load a map? There are no options for it that I can see and its trying to download hundreds of them after the game decided to redownload every subscribed mod on my install. It's pretty much broke loading any maps loading more than 90% for me and there is no end in sight. It's definitely not a Memory or processor problem - i7 and 16 GB RAM. This is really something that should happen in the background and not hammer your net connection. I'm still at a loss on why everything started downloading again too.

It should only be downloading the jsons, not the images (except for the images / models / etc on the table you're on). It downloads any that have changed or been subscribed to since the last time you opened the game. If you open the game more often, fewer of them will be downloaded when you start it up.

I usually just wait for all the jsons to finish downloading before I go to the table I want.

It redownloaded every mod I've subcribed to from day one (when TTS was early access) even though I just built this computer a few months ago and had already opened TTS to let it download everything. I think the last time I was playing (a week ago) I had to leave in a hurry and closed by the X and shut down the computer. The reason why it's slowing model and image intensive tables is it hits an error when it can't find an image every now and then which stops downloading the table. It happens for old mods that don't use steam cloud to store images. I should add I have subcribed to way too many mods :steamfacepalm:

I have never had it download anything but jsons, unless I'm in the room where the files are needed. Is it possible that it's having trouble finding the images for the table that you're trying to load, and not the images for the jsons it's downloading in the background?

I think its to do with caching being turned on and it effects thumbnails too. The tables seem to load fine until it can't find a thumbnail image. Then it sits on whatever percent of the table has loaded. The next time it happens I'll try turning caching off.

So, caching is what keeps the files on your computer. If you turn caching off, it will re-download the image files and models, etc, every time you load a table.

What you may wish to do is get the TTS Mod Backup software (there's even a forum thread right neare the top about it irght now), and try to download everything for the mod you want, before even loading up TTS. You'll be able to see if there are files in that particular mod that are no longer in existence.

Cool that sounds good. I'll be able to pick the essential mods! Thank you for your time Em :)
