Game freezing at loading screen

I just got the game and have been unable to get it running. When I start it up it gets the the loading screen then freezes to the point where I have to close with task manager. I've tried verifying the game as well as reinstalling. My graphics driver is up to date. I'm pretty stumped at this point. Anybody have ideas?

FX 6300 @ 4.4Ghz
16gb Memory
GTX 970 4gb

Also @OP, I remember once someone solved a similar issue by doing this

Go into programs and features and uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
Then RE-install this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
