Lol, the first time I managed to get through that sequence I let go of all possible keys I could touch. It was as if the brain said "Shhh, don't ruin it!"

Doing some Cat runs for now to get more used to preserving lives.

What worked best for me in preparation for YOLO was to do normal runs where I focused on really nailing the problematic areas, one after another. I practised Hardcore Prawn until I could do it about 20 times in a row without failing.

Even then, it's easy to screw up when you get down to it. You do have muscle memory working at your advantage, but it's easy to get too tense when it really matters.

My YOLO video has me just idling for about 5-10 seconds on all of the most difficult challenges. Both for me to get my pulse down and to get into the rhythm of the in-game obstacles.

Oh yes, "Never Could See Any Other Way" is a tough one, especially if you're going for that money bag on the right. There's a magic point in the timing on the lower three obstacles; I jump the first one and the spike together, then run under the second, in one motion.

I usually go under the first and jump, but after a few tries this worked just as well. Thanks! :)

And, flesk, I saw your run earlier. Amazing, dude! It'll take a while, but I'll get there.

The title says I have to win it. It's not as if I have a choice.

My pleasure! Glad to help. With some shared technique, we'll all win this time. We have to, as the title says...

Flesk is just amazing, agreed. I don't know if I could do it with the added pressure of a video capture running...

Took me a while to get "Never Could See Any Other Way" right (I know it's an early room, but it's scary when you get to it, lol), but none gave me more trouble than "Hardcore Prawn". How on Earth people get past it without dying at least once?

It's only a matter of timing. If you jump onto the lower left ledge just as the shot from the upper right prawn reaches the edge of the upper right ledge, you can jump the rest of the way up fairly casually.

Oh.

Oh my goodness
SOMEBODY GET THIS MAN A MEDAL IMMEDIATELY.

I'm terrible at gaming so to me, every game is unbeatable.

Explore more. You'll find it, and the symbol, somewhere on the map. There's no mistaking the secret word when you find it, never fear.

Lol... 875 the first time I finished it.

I will admit that some of them were intentional.

Thanks for the compliments but there are at least two players with videos of better YOLO runs than mine. Both have posted their videos in their respective Steam guides I think. One of them, BlaXpirit, is on my friend list and he's much more skilled at platformers than I am.

I'm just hanging around here because I really like this game.

So on my first trip through this I died 553 times. But I won.

Same thing as the YOLO run really. Totally the same.

As an old geezer that actually played 8 bit games when they were new, this was a hell of a throwback.
