Thinking with Time Machine

A brief review of TWTM
If it's anything I'm enthusiastic over, it's a Portal 2 mod. SO when I heard about this, I was incredibly excited. This was a really original concept, and could possible server as it's own game. (sadly it can not due to the portal mechanics).

What this boils down to is that it's a bunch of coop maps. Coop maps with a friend who refuses to exist after a few momments of doing what you want him or her to do. The learning curve is really simple as well, giving you video tutorials on how to use the time machines mechanics. Press 'r' to begin recording your movements, 'q' to end recording, and 'f' to play recording. Upon execution, your clone will replicate everything you do, down to every grab and jump. each puzzle uses some mechanic of this. Whether it be jumping on the back of your clone, or having it hand a cube to you.

Design wise, this is beautiful. If Portal 2 had a texture pack feature built into it, this is the one I'd have running all the time. I love how you can see cubes get assembles, and all the neon lighting and negative sign posts and stuff.

The only thing I dislike is the unecesary padding. You have to record yourself long enough so your clone can stay within existance in order to comfortably solve the puzzle. I haven't beaten this mod yet due to this, because it feels like a waste of time... Hehe... time.

I'd mention the story, but like I said, I haven't finished it yet, so I won't talk about that.

Great mechanics, excellent visuals, slow game play.
