Having both read the Steam Guide (which notes that the already different mission is nearly impossible without proper placement of yours and Bellafide's bases next to each other on the same side of the map!) and watched your video walkthrough, I found it noteworthy that in the video your developer is unable to attain the Heroic 3000 food objective. Looking around YouTube for examples of the mission with the Heroic accomplishment has yielded little, as well.
Given that luck seems to be a major factor and the walkthrough from the developers themselves does not showcase a successful completion, perhaps it is time to tune down this requirement? I do not doubt that it IS doable, but the level of things that have to go "right" including luck seems to be way way above the rest of the difficulty curve. Perhaps a target of 2000 net food would be more viable, offering challenge and requiring good play, without near perfection of not only play but RNG both in terms of base location and enemy location/spawn.
I've not yet progressed beyond this mission, but if there are any other missions that players report similarly spike in difficulty, I would ask if you'd please consider a balancing pass to bring them more in line. Thank you.
Which spot on the map is that? Will this spot remain the same every time you play this mission?
In your case (Longcoat hub to Commonfolk hub), I think there is a small red lizard in the bottom-right corner of the map. Talk to the Lizard and you will get to the Commonfolk hub.
