Any strategies I should be doing?

This game being a fast-paced RTS, your actions need to matter as not to fall behind the rush of enemies that might come your way so I'm wondering what the general strategy is. For me being new to the multiplayer RTS, I tend to build a few farms(1-2) before making my unit first production. After that, I'm not sure what the proper strategy is. Should I prioritize economy in early game? I just alternate between farms and unit productions and make more farms as I run scarce in funds.

Your starting strategy is exactly what I do so I think it is alright. But the rest of your play highly depends on the map and what the other player is doing. If the enemy is building early aggression, you should definitely build up some defenses or units. If they are expanding really early, build some units to harass the expansion since it won't have too many pigs to help defend. If they are just farming up and turtling up, try buying a gristmill and keeping it defended.

My typical start is about 6 or so farms and then a warren, queue farm and get it to max, then another warren, and prob a third after that. The key is watching your enemy and seeing what theyre doing. if theyre econing up, then I will want to put pressure on them, if i seem them building very few farms, then I know a rush is happening and I need to speed up my build. I tend to put a lot of pressure early on, not exactly rush, but I want to keep them contained and know what theyre doing and make the best decisions based off that. If they barely beat off my advance of about 6 squirrels/frogs or we come off even (and maybe 3 extra toads if i seem them going heavy in t1) then I tend to build up another farm and move on from there. The maps are randomized (A GOOD THING....USUALLY) so you have to make and change your strategy for every game and adjust it to the enemies build as well.
