Which storyline is better?

This game has two quite different main storylines, depending on whether or not you choose to help Alice at the very beginning of the game. I think the storyline where you do NOT help Alice is far superior: it is longer and more challenging, the events unfold in a more logical way, and the main character's motivation is much more relatable (searching for a long lost father vs. revenge).

For those who have played both storylines, I am curious which one did you like better? (Acknowledging of course that neither story is great, and this game is not going to win any awards for either writing or voice acting, but still.)

First couple of times i've played this game i was always chosing helping alice since it was always longer and more interesting. It is also more intriguing since it touches on these subjects of apocalypse,aliens,mad max societies plus more. Meanwhile the other one serves more of shorter playtrough if you want it and more combat in certain areas but is not as interesting as the other first one but you already know that...
But i am so annoyed that there are no more games like these, althou, i kind of understand it.
A lot of people joke on this game in reviews about its story which IS kind of mediocre but i think making this game world was not easy at all. It takes a lot of atmosphere from some books from certain books i've read which kind of share these subjects.
