Fix for "Unhandled Exception" on Win 7 64bit
I tried the config.cfg from the HTA Disc I found somewhere at home and this fixed my "unhandled exception" problem.
Maybe you have to change the autoPlayVideo attribute in the config.cfg to "false", start the game until you got the error, and then change it back. Then replace your not-working-"config.cfg" with the one downloaded and rename the "video" folder in something other. Then you did exactly what I did. For me this works fine at my Win 7 64bit.
Please give feedback if this works for you.

Here is the config.cfg I used:
http://janosf.de/public.php?service=files&t=90eab5a4c7158717eeebf5a7ae1ca7f8 (click the button "Herunterladen" in the top right corner to download for every non German user)

Edit: In this config the sound is disabled. If you enable it the same error as before occures. This isn't fixed yet but we'll work on it.

Thank you, Jafocation!

Config run the game OK, except one - NO Sound, NO Music.
Inspite of put all volumes in 100..
Could you please check what to change in config to return sounds?

Я правильно понял скачать конфиг с сайта и вставить в папку с игрой?
Jafocation Mar 15, 2014 @ 1:50pm
@Broks: да, правильно поняли

@Martinsky: Ok I'll check that. Didn't notice that because I always play without ingame-sound but music on.

More difficult then I expected... there is an object snd_Enable in the config.cfg.
In the cfg I uploaded it's snd_Enable="false" and everything works fine except of the sound precisely because it's disabled. But if I change it to snd_Enable="true" then the game crashes while creating/loading a new game. (sound in main menu works) ... Maybe some of you could change this object (snd_Enable) from true to false and vice versa, try to start a new game and post the results. I'll also work on some troubleshooting... So first you'll be only able to play without sound but I'll leave a comment if I got new results.

Edit: To keep you up to date: Seems like a problem with DirectX on Win7 because with Win XP both (snd_Enable="false" and snd_Enable="true") work fine (tested a view minutes ago) and one time trying with snd_Enable="true" on Win7 i got a DirectX-what-ever-not-working error.

@Mardulf: Nice! Works perfectly for me for Rise of Clans. Did'nt try at the standard game, because it works with my fix and the sound is not important for me... But really thanks for the fix! :)

To Everyone here. I have the fix.
First off.
Don't run it in XP compatibility mode. I went through hell, and finally disabled it, and got past the Loading Animations ♥♥♥♥.
When you start the game, alt tab to desktop, and open task manager by pressing control, shift, and escape at the same time. Go to processes.
Look fortaroc.exe.
Right click it.
Click, Set Affinity.
Uncheck all but CPU 0. That should do it for you.
