Hard Truck Apocalypse / Ex Machina

Hard Truck Apocalypse / Ex Machina

Unhandled Exception!
Hi can someone help me with this?

It seems to run when I use gamebooster, but then after a while the screen freezes but the game continues and my truck gets shot to hell if I don't pause first and the only way to get the visuals moving again is ctrl + alt + del switch to Ex Machina =( Tis a shame because I really enjoy this game and having to do this every two and a half minutes ruins it.

is this patch working on windows 8.1?

I'm running fine on 8.1 without any patch
doesn't work for me either, windows 7
i get same error on windows 7, how is steam allowed to sell this stuff. It clearly says it will run on windows 7 in the specs part
What exactly is it doing on your systems? I am running Vista on a laptop that is at least 5 years old and the only thing I have done is add an extra 1g ram chip set and it works fine, I take it you all have custom gaming desktops?
I'm getting the exact same problem, it worked perfectly fine yesterday but now Steam updated and it doesn't work anymore
Patched it, I have Windows 7 64 bit and it works fine now but will know more tomorrow when I play it for a while. This is the link for the patch that I used, many thanks to the person or persons who originally posted the fix.

This is what I did. (EDIT) Still doesn't load a saved game or move onto the next level, so I skipped nunbers 3 & 4. And now it seems to work like a normal game. Videos and all. Great game it is too.

1. Download the patch from
http://deusexmachina.fsay.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=1344

2. Extract the patch into the main HTA directory (Steam\SteamApps\common\Hard
Truck Apocalypse), overwriting any existing versions of the files.

3. Then you have to delete the videos in your Steam\SteamApps\common\Hard Truck
Apocalypse\data\video directory.

4. Also make sure in your config.cfg (inside the data folder) you change
autoPlayVideo="true" to autoPlayVideo="false" (use the find function provided by
notepad to find it) otherwise it will crash.

5. To fix the resolution you will need to Find the Confing.cfg (inside the data
folder) file and open it with notepad, after that you need to search for these
exact lines: r_width="1366" (mine is 1920) r_height="768" (mine is 1080) (use
the find function provided by notepad to find them easier) and change the number
with whatever resolution you have.

6. Going to Nvidia Control Panel/AtiCatalyst driver and force V-sync on the
game.

Yeah that is what I did aswell! but rather than false I went into the config and rather than setting the value to false I set it to "0" If that does not work for you guys let me know on here and I will track down the one that helped me, and if I cant find it I'll try and write down the steps I took to fix it =)
Ok, the only thing I did to fix mine was step 4 of RedWolf's patch, I haven't had any resolution issues because I'm only using my laptop monitor. Does anyone know how to fix the issue of some of the buttons not working when you first load up a game?
OK, I played it for half a day and it wouldn't load my saved games or go to the next level without crashing. So I put the videos back into the video folder and changed the autoPlayVideo in the config.cfg back to true. Now everything is working fine including loading saved games and changing levels. So this works for me with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

1. Download the patch from
http://deusexmachina.fsay.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=1344

2. Extract the patch into the main HTA directory (Steam\SteamApps\common\Hard

4. Going to Nvidia Control Panel/AtiCatalyst driver and force V-sync on the
game.

If someone will be trying to run the game on winqp NON STEAM (CD install) i have something that may help.
I had the game installed few years ago, now tried to install it again tho wasn't able to run it..
What helped was clearing %temp% folder, and Heavy Trucks Apocalypse folder on C where it saves some files.
After doing that i was able to run the game. Have fun
