Chocolate Factory

Chocolate Factory

How'd they get away with using Satisfactory assetts? Any link to Coffee Stain Studios?

And...? Even if it is, if Coffee Stain doesn't care, why do you?

I don't think he actually played the demo - the belts work nothing like the ones in Satisfactory, building doesn't work the same, a bunch just doesn't work the same.

Can you even make a factory game without it being directly compared to Satisfactory anymore? If your complaint is that the belts are built like Sat or the buildings phase in from the ground like in Sat how would you do it? Worse like in Astro Colony? Get over yourself

I have to agree, I didn't like all the other games that do the conveyor belts differently like techtonica / astro colony.
There is no need to re-invent the wheel just to do it differently but just end up worse, so Satisfactory-like was the approach that made the most sense for me.
but ofc, it's all subjective.

It appears many of this developers game take "HEAVY" influence from similar game types. As long as it isn't a copyright asset it doesn't really matter. The likelihood the assets were purchased in a bundle and Coffee used the same ones is pretty high.

Oddly this actually feels like a mod with how the sounds, feel, land, belts, powerpoles, animations and all. I just hope there's more to the game than doing the same things over and over again, need some story that isn't running around for ark style notes like most games tac in on top

Well might technically NOT be same assets but how the assets function (Programmed) feels to similar. After watching Lets game it out play this it like watching is old Satisfactory videos but with sugar, spice, and diabetes.

Those animations are direct copies of satisfactory animations. So much so that the first video I saw I thought it was a Satisfactory Mod. I'm all for a unique spin on the factory management genre, but you might think about redoing those animations. You're bringing on the headache yourself.

it is not using satisfactory assets but it is an asset flip, just to name a few examples:

here are the gloves
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/fps-arms-and-gloves-rifle-bonus

here are the world assets
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/candyworld

here are the machines
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/machinery-compartment-devices-pack

here are the decorations
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/platformer-3-chocolate

here is the building effect like the one satisfactory uses
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/niagara-dissolve-effect

here is the gingerbread man
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/gingerbread-man

the radial building menu is from here
https://marketplace-website-node-launcher-prod.ol.epicgames.com/ue/marketplace/en-US/product/easy-building-system

you can unpack the prologue and see how he didnt even changed the names of the asset packs and there are assets that make no sense, i dont think he did even bought the assets since they all have different signatures but that is not a reliable source so take it with a grain of salt

oh no! a developer uses asset store assets to make their game? how can that be okay? it's not like those assets were meant to be used for games.. oh wait, they are?
by the way, some of those assets are not even the right ones, lol.

I love when people complain about oh this game is a reskin of that game. Look at all the Madden games, they copied Techno Bowl. WoW copied Island of Kesmai. Every shooter copied Duck Hunt. Every platformer copied Mario.
