I just get a black screen when i try and play

i can hear the menu music but its all just a black screen, so i cant view any options to try and chage the resolution etc.
i also think its defaulted to a very low resolution (maybe 640x480) because my tv says HDMI3 - VGA when i try and play the game.

im playing over hdmi obviously

win7 64bit
amd 5350
radeon 8400gs - latest drivers
8gb ddr3

arent there any config files or command-line options i can add to let me play?

Yes, Crimzon Clover defaults to a low resolution in order to have better compatibility with legacy displays.

I'd like to try a couple workarounds to see if I can get the game to display properly.

First, try booting up the game and entering the following commands on your keyboard:

Z, Down, Z, Z, Right, Down x4, Z

What this will do is attempt to switch the game's output resolution to 720p.

If that fails, also try:

Z, Down, Z, Z, Down, Left, Down x3, Z

This will attempt to display the game in a window, where you could hopefully get a picture and be able to adjust display settings.

Let me know if either of those help. If not, we can look for additional solutions.

Glad I could help! Hopefully everything's working properly at high res fullscreen as well.

Took me about 2 minutes to diagnose and fix on Win 10.

1. Browse to the folder containing the game.
2. Right click CrimzonClover_WI.exe and select Properties
3. Select the Compatibility tab, click "Change settings for all users"
4. Click checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 8 in the drop down.
5. Click OK, click OK.

Job done. Program now loads from the folder if double clicked or from the Steam launcher.

The black screen/vsync issue is fixed after the latest windows 10 fall creators update
