Anyway, if you are playing on Windowed, you can resize the window manually to fit your screen as much as possible but, remember you'll still have borders due to the very nature of the game.
AFAIK, WI's resolution is at 1280 x 960 which is a slight upgrade from vanilla.
Edit: It appears that I've found a workaround at least for my setup by using a few launch options. My desktop's resolution is set to 1920*1080 so I entered the following in the launch options:
-full -w 1920 -h 1080
I'd suggest to try plugging that in and changing the width and height settings to whatever you have set as your desktop's resolution.
