Can this be played offline?

With Ubisoft's history of shutting down games and removing your access to them and given this game didn't sell very well before I would consider purchasing, it would have to be playable offline in case it ever gets shut down like The Crew.

The Crew was the oldest game of a series, that's why it was shut down. Skull and Bones is a single game, very different cases.
