I love that Ubisoft is failing
love that Ubisoft is failing, it bring me hope that Ubisoft will shift towards making products and decisions that push towards consumers not solely business point of view. As they have nothing to loose right now, their evaluation went from 12billion to 2 billion in 4 years.
How can Ubisoft achieve this?
They can start by making small changes
-completely ditching Ubisoft connect.
-adding Ubisoft achievements on steam
- listening to consumers and based on that making set decisions.
-being vocal about their product and decisions for their games and not taking the rockstar path as they can afford it.
- innovating in the Ubisoft formula.
-not making every single game a rpg bs game. (I understand it worked with assassins creed even though I hate it, it has no place in far cry)
-taking time to release a game for less bugs on launch.
-not severely targeting niche demographic such as Igbtq etc and making it too obvious.

Following this Ubisoft can drastically improve their public perception at the least if not even increase their evaluation and profits.

Let's talk business:

Why don't companies understand favoring consumers is the way for making profits in a business and not ignore it.

How many times have we seen companies get unnecessarily "woke" and get clowned for it relatively reducing profits why don't companies understand it and work towards it blindly.

The thing is that they may be bought by tencent which would be terrible since they love pay to win microtransactions

They should've stuck to games that made them big in the first place.

Dark, gritty, mature games that no other studios had.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter,
Splinter Cell
The Division 1 and 2.
Endwar
HAWX
Rainbow Six (before it goofy)

No body asked for these goofy games like Avatar, Skull and Bones, XDeviant and what ever goofy trendy games they pushed out. They were trying too hard to get a mainstream audience by trying to be trendy instead of just sticking to what they were good at.

All of Ubisofts games are going to be dogsh!t with Tencent taking over them.

They don't even make original games, just copies and rip offs of others.

They are going to buture any future content for The Division 2.

The next Ghost Recon and The Division 3 will be butchered with them in charge of development. Actually a real damn shame. The Division 1 and 2 are two by far my favorite games and I don't we'll ever get quality like that again.

Only thing Ubisoft are shifting too is collapse bankruptcy, shares only improved when shareholders realised Tencent and Musk were mulling over 40% share purchases and considering tencent already owns 40% shares currently. CCP will own all your data soon. Don't expect improvement expect data harvesting and closures.

They should have never turned there back on Black Flag... Just dumb

if this would have released as black flag dlc as it origianlly was planed you would not be happy either, it would not have been a multiplayer version of the singleplayer, it would have been a ship version of the multiplayer mode black flag already had on land.

The price tag is a big part of the problem here. For what this game turned out to be it's not even remotely worth the price, especially the "special" versions with the over priced DLC....

CCP will be naught but memory once Project Thor wipes Three Gorges dam off the Map
