Steam Deck battleye needs to restart

I bought the game from Ubisoft and installed ubiconnect. I installed Proton Battleye Runtime on the deck but after a minute or so I get kicked and it says battleye needs to restart the game. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Boss, all of my playtime is on steam deck and that’s never happened to me so far.

Did you install proton battle eye separately from the steam App Library or did you let the game installer do it?

And what system os version are you on?

Edit: ohhh you are trying to run the Ubisoft version. Unfortunately I’ve read some other people having problems with that too on steam deck. Sorry I’m not sure how to help you in that case if you’re running it through uplay on the steam decks desktop mode.

Hey Zero, first thanks replying.
I've tried running it in both modes, same result. I did install the Battleye Runtime, that didn't help. Funny, I can run it on my desktop(Arch) through lutris, maybe I'll have to give it another try on the deck.

I'm tempted to see if steam will let me transfer my copy to the stream version.

So when you say both modes do you mean you tried launching it from the steam decks desktop mode installed via uplay, and then also tried launching it through the steam decks game mode via an added shortcut?

Regardless my best guess is that the actual steam version of the game-even though it still launches through Ubisoft connect-it has something different in how it launches and interacts with Battle eye.

Or it is using a different version of battle eye than the edition you installed.

I doubt steam will give you a free steam copy, even if you buy it on steam the game will still use your Ubisoft account and will pick up progress exactly where you left off after you login.

Sorry wish I knew how to help you more Boss but I don’t know much about Linux.

Were you able to get this fixed on your steam deck?

I'm getting the exact same issues with my ubisoft version of the game and have tried running through Desktop Mode and Game Mode on the steam deck - but Nought

Proton BattlEye Runtime was installed
Boots with Proton Experimental but generates the
'BattlEye: Game Restart Required. EIDER-0000A000' message

-- Tried Proton Hoxfix (same issue)
-- Tried Proton 9 (same issue)
-- Tried Steam Linux Runtime but doesn't run ubisoft launcher

Sorry for the late reply. I'm using lutris to launch it in game mode and it plays great.

That's a good shout, I'll have to look into that and get it installed for the steam deck
