RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack

Crashes on load.
When i click on the load tab on the main menu it just crashes to desktop. Poof. Not even a error message or anything. Running it on compatibility mode for windows 95 and running as administrator. I had to do that because the game wouldnt even start without that. So after 3 hours of work on a cool park, it saves, all seems fine, then BAM. wont load. Im really regretting buying these two games becuase i have the same problems with the first. Spent all this money on a series i love and cant even play them. Im going to be hesitant to buy anything from this developer again. Unless, of course, someone here can help find the solution to this absolutely game breaking bug. Windown 8.1 btw.

I made a post about this yesterday, run the game on XP service pack 2 and admin. It should work perfectly. Hopefully this works!

I have the same problem except it starts but the screen is black and only the sound plays. Tried all that too. Haven't been able to play the game at all.

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!! Ok, if your game crashes when you click load in the main menu, simply take your saved game and open it with rct2.exe! And to get even simpler, create a shortcut to your saved game and have it open with rct2.exe! OMG PEOPLE!!!!

Our problem is that we can't even get the program running, so we have no saved games to open.

Try running the game on XP service pack 2. Fixed my save/load problem

Just saw your comment when I saw reversedpolarity comment on it

This worked. Thank you!

I've tried everything mentioned before and nothing. Tried almost every compatability mode and even playing with color modes and resolutions. Running as admin did nothing. Why can't this game be played? It's over 10 years old. I want to start building death trap roller coasters and drowning complaining visitors!

UPDATE: I think I found the source of my issue but this may help others. If you can, turn your graphics cards off. I'm running it on my laptop that can change between my Radeon and Intel intergrated graphics card. Tried booting it up without being plugged in and it ran just fine without the graphics card being used. Hope this helps anyone.
