DLC for RCT2?

When compatability issues get fixed, why not make DLC for RCT 2? There are numerous user-created coasters, scenery, and scenarios out there (UCES anyone?) and this would be the perfect place to showcase them. Bring back stuff from RCT Mart, Amazing Earl's rides, and more UCES! This is what RCT needs! Though I wouldn't pay for them, as they're not really worth giving money for.
And what about workshop? While "official" DLC could be... well, "official", the workshop could just have whatever other users created.

Am I the only one who wants this? Would you pay for DLC like this?

Why not just get stuff on the steam workshop?

I think the best expansion out there now is OpenRCT2, it really expands on top of RCT2 and allows working properly on Windows, Linux, and MAC. It also supports multiplayer and can play RCT1 scenarios via a content pack you can download (the pack needs to be googled, it is not on the OpenRCT2 site)

Trying to get UCES pack to work, it doesn't seem to be installing any of the objects or scenarios

Double check if you've installed it in the right location (mine defaulted to another location). If not, just move the files to the correct folder manually. They should be in the same folder as your RCT2 files (scenario files in the scenarios folder, track designs in the tracks folder etc.). For the objects to work, you might need to load a scenario that uses them prior to being able to use them elsewhere, so just open all UCES scenario's once. If you use OpenRCT2, put the files in the OpenRCT2 folder instead of the RCT2 folder.

I gave up, it just didn't install anything, not even the stupid files you're supposed to delete, so I unzipped the install and manually put stuff where it goes

With UCES there was also a readme with how to set it up and an order to open the scenarios in to set up the objects and fix some issues so they work correctly, if you've not got that readme ask around. Or I'll try and find it when I get my old pc working (it's not at the moment, something's loose connection wise which I need to fix) I've got UCES on my old disc version pc and it's quite awesome for extra content, especially recolourable items, haven't tried it with steam rct2 yet. There are some good scenarios with UCES too.

Opening some multiplayer games in OpenRCT2 might also give you some extra content along the way (opening any park that contains custom content gives you that content for free, multiplayer is just an easy way to find it).
