RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack

AMAZING Mods, Fixes, Video Card and Launching Patches, and Many More!
There are a lot of complaints about compatibility issues with the game. This game is spiking in popularity from the streams Joel (Vinesauce) did on Twitch.TV, and I'm going to tell you mods YOU HAVE TO GET to get the full experience on Windows Vista all the way through Windows 10.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

OpenRCT2 https://openrct2.com/download
This is the most important mod for any game you will ever see in your life. It forces Windowed mode immediately and patches many video card problems preventing the game from running, makes the game 100% customizable, fixes one of the major problems with the game even when it's running: the main menu, by seperating tabs by expansion packs and creating sub-tabs for difficulty, and even ads an unlocking system closer to the original game that can be disabled through their limitless options menu. THIS IS THE MOD WITH ONLINE SUPPORT AS SEEN ON VINESAUCE OFFICIAL!!
To install, select one of the two versions, (I select the one on the right for internet access as it's not in the stable version yet and isn't frequently used,) run the installer, select your steam installation's disk drive in case you have SSD's and HDD's like me, and select OpenRCT.exe from your Steam Icon.

RCT1 Scenario Recreation {LINK REMOVED}
This is a port of every RCT1 map with complete seneric accuracy, and is the only RCT1 port that seperates itself into tabs and seperating itself from the three expansion tabs in OpenRCT. In the options, you have the ability to select which intro you have, but RCT1's intros WILL NOT WORK if you do not have this mod pack in RCT1.
Unzip this in your scenario pack in your origional RCT2 directory.

Amazing Earl's Mods
http://ae.rctspace.com/
AMAZING custom rides for your park! These will be unzipped in your objectlist folder.

RCT2Objectlist.com
http://www.rct2objectlist.com/index.php?/files/
Acts as a wikipedia of sorts for the following site.

NE Designs
http://www.nedesigns.com/rct2-objects/?order=dd
This is one of the hardest websites to navigate for mods, but this is for competitive RCT2 for those that recommend file names. What's going to catch your eye is my favorite ride mod right at the top. That is a zipline, and you will love it. This site is perfect for looking up the dat in RCT2Objectlist.com for further modding.

GitHub
http://x123m3-256.github.io/RCT2/CustomRides/
These are the best track based rides you will see in the modding community, track based rides being the rarest in the game (which is why I suggest you check out the zipline in the previous link.)

RCTGo
http://rctgo.com/downloads/custom-scenery/rct2
Amazing, nostalgic tile paths. The cool thing about these mods is they all unzip in the same objectlist folder in the RCT2 directory.

Trigger's RCT2 Tools
http://trigger-death.github.io/RCT2Tools/
Extra modding tools! Here you can edit sound files (important for the css50 file if you do not have Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, I think we can agree the original theme is a bit better), a water creator, in which I've created blood red lakes and beautiful purple and deep blue seas with this program and Macromedia Fireworks 8, and other programs for people with more programming knowledge than me.

If you wish to make your own mods outside of some water and sound mods, there are tons of other utilities for RCT2, the modding community is literally exploding right now and you should definitely be on board :pleased:

--------------------------------------------------------------

All of these are completely legal, for they require the purchase of this game to run, and I highly suggest them. These mods make the original game appear completely unplayable.

Never give up on your nostalgic dreams, and keep building! :D:

I thank Joel for giving this mod the appreciated attention it deserves, and I thank OpenRCT's team for making all of this amazing stuff happen.

Are the http://x123m3-256.github.io/RCT2/CustomRides/ ones for Open RCT or Vanilla RCT, people often aren't specifying and the two aren't always compatible?
sunscreemer Oct 10, 2016 @ 2:37pm
rct2objectlist.com is currently not up, may have joined the rct2 fanbase in the sky
Ric Oct 10, 2016 @ 7:19pm
@sunscreemer
They work for both but go in your RCT2 downloads folder. OpenRCT2 is not needed
Ric Oct 10, 2016 @ 7:20pm
I will check the broken link when I get off Mobile too

Thank you for your guide, Ric.

Tell, me, is there a way to run the game through steam with the OpenRCT2 tweaks (so it shows up you're playing it), short of adding a "non-steam game"?
Pedro[PCMR] Oct 16, 2016 @ 4:43pm
Hmm, actually it seems that adding a "non-steam game" actually makes the overlay work perfectly. The only thing not tracked is play time.
Ric Oct 16, 2016 @ 8:31pm
@Pedro[PCMR] I'll be totally hoenest, that's what the steam stub was for, it broke since I wrote the guide
