How to update to 0.4.0 ???

Trying to play online but it says everyone else is on 0.4.0 and mine is on a previous version, how do I update???

I use an/the OpenRCT2 launcher. Just google them. It updates to the latest develop version (or latest stable which I think is rare in multiplayer servers).
Aside from the launcher which is widely used, you probably just can download the new version of OpenRCT2 and install it. It should notice the older installation and update it.
