OpenRCT2 Project
Does this steam version of the game works with OpenRCT2 and is the game working good on Windows 10?

Yes OpenRCT2 is compatible with the steam version and it will work well with the game.

Works great on Windows 10 and my Ubuntu ;)

1. Download the game (it's just an installation folder).
2. Install the game (setup.exe can be found in the local files).
3. Install OpenRCT2
Have fun ;)

It's been working perfectly for me as well, Windows 10. You can even launch it through steam and keep it tracking your play time (if you care about that).
Windows 11 22H2 here. Works like a charm. Sadly it doesn't bring out the scenarios from the original Steam copy.

I just downloaded openrct2 like normal and open it from my desktop to run the game. It actually still won't open through Steam, though I guess I don't really need it to. For awhile I wondered if openrct2 had the full game itself cuz there's no obvious relation between it and my Steam download.

You can, right click RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 on Steam, go to Properties then you'll see LAUNCH OPTIONS, now in that box put
"D:\OpenRCT2\openrct2.exe" %COMMAND%
Replace D:\ disk to the hard drive nor SSD where you installed OpenRCT2. Once done, open it through Steam and it will have OpenRCT2 when starting up the game

It didn't work. Pressing 'Play' still hangs for a few seconds and then stops.

Edit: nm, I didn't put it in quotes. Weird, I thought that was only needed when the file path has a space in it. 🤔
Oh well, it does work now! Thanx 👍

How exactly? I downloaded the game, downloaded OpenRCT2 but whenever I open it, it doesn't use steam, and when it uses steam is not OpenRCT2

@bongerman85 To link your RCT Deluxe installation and play RCT1 in OpenRCT2, go to the title screen. Press Options in the top right corner, then click the wrench tab and then the path at the bottom.
