I did try that, but it would never remain fully stationary no matter how hard I tried.. luckily for me it counted as stationary while I tabbed out to look at the forums here

ok, so I tried it again in drone mode, at 1440p the chaser just flat out refuses to stay put, putting the game in to 1080p seemed to make it a lot less twitchy with its movements and it actually staid stationary for the 3 seconds required

Interesting observations, I will investigate in that direction.

Thanks for the feedback.

What's the intended solution here? As far as I can tell, the Chaser has no way of being grabbed by left- or right-clicking, there's no sweet spot where it doesn't try to run away from your cursor, and it's a circular arena, so we can't just guide it into a corner to stay still in the corner for 3 seconds. Even if we press it up against the outer edge, it always tries to move clockwise or counterclockwise along the edge of the circular play area because of the large force pushing it away from the cursor at any point that we don't have the exact perfect positioning.

Same here, maybe adjusting mouse speed will help, but I can only get it to almost stop for maybe a second by smooshing it against the edge, then feathering in the opposite direction it moves (kind of just touching it with the outside of the ammo counter).
Okay, I somehow just got it with this method, very light hand.

I eventually figured out a trick, and got the "Stay Still" mission completed on both Normal and Only Drones modes.

The area that pushes the Chaser isn't your cursor, but a circle AROUND your cursor (if you're on Normal mode, it seems to be the same radius as the yellow circle on the Lasers). If you get your mouse too close to the chaser, it will start glitching out from how much the chaser wants to get out of that pushing circle, making it move a lot along the edge of the circle, and eventually zooming away if your positioning isn't perfect.

Instead, you want to just barely be pushing the Chaser with the outer edge of your pushing circle into the outer border. This way, you have plenty of time to position your cursor perfectly and get the achievement.
