I downloaded rollercoaster tycoon deluxe, fter instaltion I went to play the game. A message came up saying i have to downlod directplay. when i try ti download nothing hppens. I have also chosen skip this step nd nothing happens then either, I'm currently using a new windows 8.1 computer. I'm not great with computers but looking to play this game i played as a kid a lot. please help! Thanks

update.... it says downloading files, it begins downloading but gets stuck about half way through

edit: seems that maybe not all files where downloaded, try to verify the game integrity by right clicking the game in the steam library, go on options, in the new window go to the third tab should be called game files or so. here you should find this option.

i've tried everything in the link and verified that everything is correct. I'm not sure i was completely clear. when i try to run the game it says i have to install directplay. Directplay is what appears to not be working for me. For some reason the download of this seems to get stuck.

While searching in the forums i found the following:
Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off -> Checkmark Legacy Components -> Checkmark DirectPlay.

It might help, what you could also try is installing directplay from the folder instead of letting it steam do or download a (newer) version from the internet.

i havent been able to get mine to work i click on it and nothing happens - it has the loading icon and then nothing

i also try and install it from the program files and it says i need the origional rct to finish download
