Windows 10 display issue

So I just upgraded to windows 10 and now RCT1 and 2 will not display on my screen. when it opens it goes to a black screen for a few seconds with the game sound and just goes back to the desktop. Are these games unplayable on windows 10? If so I'm really considering going back to windows 8 because I have to be able to play these games! I had no problem playing them on windows 8.1

You have to play RCT1&2 in windowed mode.

Right click the executable & enable compatibility mode.

RCT is located by default at \(Steam Dir)\steamapps\common\RCT\

I also just upadated to 10, and I'm getting a launch error that says something about "exception raised--windows display driver" Anyone elese get that? or know what to do about it?

Sounds like you need to update your display drivers.

after I started the game Win 10 told me it needed direct play to run I let it install restarted the game and so far no problems

I fixed this issue by changing my screen resolution on my computer.

Don't know about you. But this runs better on Windows 10 than it does on Windows 8.1. Just me I guess

The problems are probably due to something not being installed correctly, and once they are installed correctly everything would be OK.

when i load it up , it makes my screen have black bars on the side of my screen so how do i fix that?!?

It might be the result of loading a 4:3 game on a widescreen monitor.
