RCT Won't open properly
When I open the game, there appears to be a very small (~100x100px) game screen that is looped many times over so I can't use it. The rest of the screen is black with the RCT theme playing and my cursor is now the proper RCT cursor. I am in Windows 7 64-bit and have tried all of the recommended compatibility settings, but nothing affects the outcome. Worth noting is the color reduction that my windows(and Steam) get after trying to load the game.

I tried 'Alt+Enter' to froce it into windowed mode, but it rejects the command.
A Loopy Landscapes update will not install either, but that might not even be needed.
I have the CD as well and figured it was corrupted so I bought the Steam version and am geting the same thing.

Any advice?

Compatibility Options need to all be checked, with Compatibility Mode set to Windows 98 or XP SP2. Also, you may need to turn off DSR/VSR before launching it for the first time if you have a high-end graphics card.

Here is what works for me (for those who have not that much experience with computer):
First of all you'll need a Shortcut from the Game exe on your Desktop.
Right Click on it, click Properties, click on the Compatibility Tab.
Now check this boxes: "Disable visual themes", "Disable desktop composition", "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" and last but not least "Run this programm as an administrator".
Now you should be able to play the game in Fullscreen.
Oh, and if you get the problem to not be able to left click after you closed the game, just right click a view times.

I can confirm most of these. I discovered and solved many of the issues in this game myself, so I'll go ahead and confirm that both of those methods will fix your problems 90% of the time.

I already tried all of that, including all together (compatiblility to win 98 and program as admin with disabling vt, dc, and ds) and got the same issue.

My friend was able to get Red Alert 2 running on his computer by turning his screen resolution down to 1024x768 (normally 1920x1080). Have you tried that?

You actually click Properties. When the menu comes up, there's a tab IN properties called "Compatibility."

In that case, have fun! Even if Infogrames is disrespecting the franchise, not even their ineptitude will change the fact that this game is legendary and still one of the best builders around.
