Right from the get-go? Using Windows 10 and the screen flashes for a 2nd or two and doesn't boot up. Any ideas?
for me it'll say "Running" on Steam and then it'll disappear and nothing will ever happen... I hear some don't have an issue (like above) and others do... I wonder what it is... and changing the compatibility settings doesn't do a single thing except give me an error that is something like "0xc0000022"
this is the isue Im having too
Brilliant, thank you. For any other people viewing this thread having issues on WIndows 10 Right Click the start menu, go to programs and Features, on the left side and click "Turn Windows Features On or Off" and on the list that is given to you look for "Legacy Components, click the plus next to it and Direct Play will be an option, tick it off and click OK and it works for me. I looked at some videos on youtube however and they mention to turn OFF your Anti-virus... I would heavily recommend NOT doing that, at least not right away... I'd personally not do it anyways even if you want to...
For anyone having issues with RCT2 as well; if you've bought the game on Steam there is a wonderful community driven modification to the game known as "OpenRCT2" If you're Anti-virus for whatever reason is having issues with Direct Play (mine did not) then I'd highly recommend giving that a look, might work. A purchased version of RCT2 is required though to play the game, it just launches through its own program file (which I think is an EXE. so you may have to allow Windows 10 to open those executeable files)
