Wont work widnows 10

The game will not work. Every time I launch the game it instantly alt-tabs back to the desktop. Ive reinstalled anbd everything and it still wont work would someone plase help?

Have windows 10 . I just launched the game and plays fine. Did you installed Direct Play as the installation notified you to do?

Aye.
Had the same problem just now, bit of googling helped me find how to install DirectPlay, cause Windows/Microsoft gives very misleading information.

Go to Programs and Features.
Click on Turn Windows Features on or off
Click on the little + symbol infront of Legacy Components
Make sure DirectPlay is checked.
Click OK.

This should install DirectPlay and should let you play RCT. Worked for me, at least :)

Strange. Then try to switch to compatibility mode. Although that automatic alt-tabbing may suggest some sneaky backround action from win10 part. Check user right management and check the privileges the folder game is located.

I have Intel HD Graphics and I'm confused. My game works well on Windows 10 too. Is his computer having trouble with the OS?

Nothing I try works, I have a MSI Stealth GTX 965 and Intel i7. I tried running it in every combatibility mode it allows me to and nothing works. The game won't even load when i try and run it through steam or through the folder it's located in. It's not a problem with a bad computer. If I choose run in Windows 98/me it asks me to enter the cd and of course I dont have it becuase I bought it through Steam. DirectPlay is enabled and always has been. When I run it through Steam the "preparing to launch game" window pops up for less than a second and then vanishes without actually running the game. I've searched for hours on this and all the solutions I have seen are the say thing and nothing works.

I have windows 10 and it works fine on mine :/ i did have to download something to do with steam tho like a steam player in order to play their games so if you havnt done that it may be that ??

I had an older version of the game installed and deleting that helped me.

Try to run it not by Steam, but directly on source path (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe) and before you run, set it on compatibility mode Windows XP Service Pack 3. I had some problems to execute, run and save.. i fix all problemas doing this. I hope this help!

I bought the game yesterday and can't run it on windows 10, with the new update of the windows can't find the legacy components to enable the direct play. Tried the compatibility mode and nothing. I had contacted atari support and the answer was it is not compatible with Windows 10, only Windows 7.

Well i don't know what too tell you, i have win 10 and i am playing the game right now at this moment :-P So i think its safe to say that these support people u talked to does not have a single clue
