Then I started it and I didn't press any button and waited until it was loaded fully.
I have also a W10 PC.
So maybe try this? Really don't know something else.
i have cd image and rule
<Path to Steam>/Steamapps/Common/RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe/
Right click the .exe, select properties, compatibility, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for" , select Windows XP (Service Pack 3), then check "Run this program as an administrator" to avoid any UAC problems.
Played 27 Hours straight in a window (to avoid RCT messing up my Window placement) on Windows 10 Build 14393 on a GTX 970 SSC, no issues whatsoever
The only bug Im aware of was one that existed on Windows XP (And will appear now because of using Windows XP Compatibility Mode) where the Window for renaming Rides/Staff/Guests will sometime glitch out a tad.
The game will start in 640x480 fullscreen. Ive seen some people speculate that if 640x480 is not enabled in their respective Video Control Panel (NVCP/CCC/ICP) the game will crash instantly. Potentially worth a look into, though I doubt that is actually what the problem is.
First you need to find the .exe or application file. I did this by searching for the Game folder, and locating the Executable.
Here's the file path
Computer\Local Disc (C:) \YOURUSER\Desktop\Steam\Steamapps\common\RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe\
Right click the .exe File on the icon, Properties, Compatibility
Tick "Run program in compatibility mode for" And select Windows XP Service Pack 3
While you're there, Tick "disable visual themes" and "Run this program in administrator mode"
You can apply the changes and exit out of that window.
Make a copy of the .exe file and paste it to your desktop.
Now go to Start/Control Panel/Click "Small icons"/System/Advanced system settings/Performance/Data Execution Prevention
Click "Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select"
Click Add
Look in desktop
Find RTCD that you pasted
Double click
Now you can exit out.
If you followed everything, you should be able to launch it from the desktop. The fix doesn't work to launch it on Steam, But i'll be working on it.
If you need further help, comment on my profile and I'll do the best I can to answer.
